Police have shut down a city centre club which they believe was being used as a loyalist paramilitary drug distribution centre, it emerged today.
The property, on Lower North Street, was raided and 800 ecstasy tablets recovered.
At least 100 people were inside when officers targeted it on Saturday night.
A PSNI spokesman confirmed detectives are following a definite line of inquiry, with loyalist terrorists believed to be involved.
He added: "This was a successful operation against organised crime in Belfast city centre which has taken a substantial amount of potentially lethal drugs off the streets."
