Tánaiste warns SF on McConville murder
23/01/2005 - 19:01:32
The Tánaiste, Mary Harney, has warned Sinn Féin that it must recognise that the IRA murder of Jean McConville was a crime.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio, Ms Harney also said that Sinn Féin must make clear that paramilitarism and criminality is over.
Sinn Féin's Mary Lou McDonald and Mitchell McLaughlin have both refused to label the 1972 murder of the widowed mother-of-ten a crime.
And, speaking to TV3 this evening, Sinn Féin’s Sean Crowe refused to make any comment on the issue.
