Israel releases 500 Palestinian prisoners

Israel has released 500 Palestinian prisoners as part of an agreement reached at a Middle East peace summit in Egypt earlier this month.
Relatives and friends, some carrying Palestinian flags, greeted the released prisoners.
The development comes a day after the Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon won cabinet approval for a withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
